Voice Lines
Rudi Ninov & Sarieva/Gallery
Solo booth, Art Brussels, Discovery section
20-23 April 2023
Sarieva/Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition “Voice Lines” by Rudi Ninov within the framework of Art Brussels 2023. This is the first solo participation of the young artist at an international fair. The project is inspired by the opening paragraph from the MANIFESTO of the first issue of SVEP, 1990 by the visual and mail art poet Vesselin Sariev. The exhibition has been selected to participate in the Discovery section of this year’s edition of Art Brussels as the only Bulgarian representative.
“Voice Lines” reflects Rudi’s ongoing interest in language and writing as an occasion for pictorial exploration. His most recent artistic explorations are directly related to the manifestation of sound in drawing, shape and color.
The works are presented in an environment curated by Vesselina Sarieva, including the exhibition gesture “The Carpet” – a proposal for a meeting place in each art installation. It is an alternative to the traditional idea of an gallery, museum, art fair, etc. “The Carpet” invites the audience to sit down right next to each other in an egalitarian manner.

+1
Opening: 15 April 2023, 14:00-19:30
+1, located next to Sarieva/Gallery, 40 Otets Paisyi str.
+1 is a temporary project by Sarieva/Gallery, located next to the physical gallery space in Plovdiv. Its program showcases artworks and artistic positions in a shared environment. The aim is to emphasize visual and aesthetic perception instead of conceptual or exhibition framework. The title of the project refers to the guest lists, where the name of the invited person is mentioned and the accompanying person is marked with +1.
The first presentation includes works by Sofia Grancharova (b. 1994), Dimitar Genchev (b. 1985) and Velizar Dimchev (b. 1983). The three young artists have worked with Sarieva/Gallery on a variety of projects, events and exhibitions.
I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT
Pravdoliub Ivanov
Solo exhibition
Opening: 5 May 2023, Sarieva/Gallery, Plovdiv
We are beyond thrilled to announce the gallery represented artist Pravdoliub Ivanov’s upcoming solo exhibition in May. His last solo show at Sarieva/Gallery was Robots Don’t Sweat in 2019. Ivanov’s upcoming exhibition will feature new, never before seen works.
I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT delves into the serendipity in art and the question whether words follow images or vice versa. It explores the inevitable discrepancy between them and the fact that one can never be the other.

Who’s afraid of painting
Aaron Roth and Dimitar Genchev
31 March 2023, Artnewscafe, Plovdiv
On March 31st Aaron Roth and Dimitar Genchev, alongside moderator Vesselina Sarieva, held a discussion, in the context of Roth’s solo exhibition Бейж (Beige) which is currently exhibited at Sarieva/Gallery.
The young artists led the conversation in the direction of the combination between painting and shame – the artist’s shame, its natural manifestations and its creeping into the work. Is there shame in being a painter and how does it arise? In an open conversation, Aaron and Dimitar discussed the status of painting and the painter today. The two artists talked about the development of the dynamic contemporary art scene in Bulgaria, the way trends affect it and what they really are at this stage.
Curator’s Table with Vesselina Sarieva
Vesselina Sarieva was asked about her association upon hearing “Deadline” and which artist does the word bring to mind.
