New publication: Stefan Nikolaev — Reference Monograph
The newly published trilingual monograph Stefan Nikolaev: Monographie de référence | Reference Monograph offers an extensive overview of the artist’s practice. Published by Éditions Dilecta, Paris, in French, English and Bulgarian, it brings together critical essays, conversations and a rich visual archive tracing the development of Nikolaev’s work across different periods and contexts.
The publication features essays and interviews by Christine Macel, Rose Vidal and Hans-Ulrich Obrist, alongside contributions by curator and art critic Svetlana Kuyumdzhieva. Together, these perspectives explore the ideas and concerns that shape Nikolaev’s practice, situating his work within a broader cultural and institutional context.
The monograph comprises 368 pages with colour illustrations and includes a separate catalogue section documenting the works through colour thumbnails and individual artwork details. The graphic design is by artist Svetlana Mircheva.
