Sarieva @ DOT Sofia Opening
Do you remember our exhibition Under Deconstruction, curated by Veselina Sarieva as part of the project Future Unforgettable, which we presented in a building under construction at the Women’s Market in Sofia in the fall of 2021?
In September 2023, after a painstaking construction process and long preparation, the building named DOT Sofia finally opens its doors with the official announcement of Sarieva/Gallery’s collaboration which has been developing since 2019 with the purpose of composing a creative concept, compiling an art collection and drawing up an event program.
DOT Sofia is a venue which combines contemporary architecture with art collection and offers luxury accommodation, cuisine, exhibitions and events in the heart of Old Sofia.
The building was designed by the I/O Architects collective; Lydia Buranova is in charge of DOT Sofia Urban Residence; the KOMAT restaurant is run by chef Alexander Gotsev; the curatorial tours of the art collection, exhibitions and all other events is conducted by Vesselina Sarieva.
The pre-opening of DOT Sofia will take place between September 15-17. The venue will offer visitors to explore the common parts of the exhibition site, try the cuisine of the KOMAT restaurant, enjoy the afternoon concert, take a peek at the DOT art collection, visit the exclusive exhibition by Pravdoliub Ivanov Transformation at the Level of the Eyes realized in collaboration with Sarieva/Gallery.
The official opening of DOT Sofia, taking place between September 29-30, will include numerous discussion, tours, tastings and highlights on the topics of accommodation, art, architecture and cuisine. For the start of DOT Sofia, Sarieva Gallery has organized a special opening of the solo exhibition Home by Bulgarian-French artist Stefan Nikolaev.
