The Carpet. Meeting place in your art institution? – Podcast with Vesselina Sarieva

“Prishtina is Everywhere” is a podcast series brought to the public by Radio Otherwise. Invited by Catherine Nichols and the Manifesta Team, in the third episode of the podcast titled “The Carpet. Meeting place in your art institution?”, Vesselina Sarieva is having a conversation with Luchezar Boyadjiev about “the carpet” – a curatorial concept for “meeting place” in opposition to the traditional art institution or art settlement – gallery, museum, exhibition, fair and others.

“Take off your shoes. Sit on the ground.” – Vesselina opens the podcast inviting the public to participate in an experiment and a poetic proposal for the future of the art world. The carpet is a new space for meeting artists, curators, visitors, collectors, for providing and receiving education, exchanging and building relationships and speaking about art and ideas.

The concept of “the carpet” was inspired by a metaphor of the artist Luchezar Boyadjiev, made by the collaborative work between Vesselina Sarieva and Luchezar Boyadjiev titled “The Mad Carpetmaker = Лудият килимар”, presented in a curated show par of “Future Unforgettable” series at Sarieva / Gallery, together with other works, representing the idea of the carpet as a meeting place in practice.

During the conversation Luchezar and Vesselina are sitting on the ground and inviting you to join them and curate “The Carpet-Exhibitions”, “The Carpet-Talks”, “The Carpet-environments” or even make “The Carpet-Art”.
