Vladimir Ivanov

Vladimir Ivanov was born in Varna in 1946. He graduated from the National Academy of Arts, majoring Prints, in 1975.he was the art editor of G.Bakalov Publishers in Varna (1980 – 1990). Between 1990 and 1994 in the Netherlands – Dordrecht and Amsterdam – where he had 10 solo exhibitions. Habilitation: 1998 – Assistant Professor, 2004 – Professor. Tutor at Varna Free University. The artist works in the sphere of conceptual arts using a variety of techniques –from the drawing, through the print and installations to interference into the urban space. He has over 30 solo exhibitions and over a 100 participations in international print biennials and group exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. Part of the collections in which Vladimir Ivanov’s works can be found  are those in Sofia National Art Gallery, Sofia City Art Gallery, Boris Georgiev City Art Gallery – Varna,  Kupferstich-Kabinett – Dresden; Meiji Collection – Tokyo, Japan; US Congress Library, Washington, private collections in Bulgaria and abroad.
