The sculptural object likely employs the most banal visual metaphor of war: plastic toy soldiers. Indeed, the banalization of war is the theme of this work. Beyond the direct reference to the title of Brâncuși’s well known monument, the title I chose also points to the concrete column, at the heart of which this paradoxical strand of overturned plastic soldiers is embedded as part of the structure, as well as to the columns through which armies advance. — Pravdoliub Ivanov
