March - April 2025
The newsletter for March and April 2025 is out now.
View it in your browser here, including images and more info.
Dear Friends,
As we move through the year, we are excited to share several updates with you. On March 13, Sarieva/Gallery in Sofia will host the opening of The Truth About the Truth, a new exhibition by Pravdoliub Ivanov. As one of Bulgaria’s most significant artists, Ivanov is renowned internationally for his thought-provoking work and strong social and political stance. The exhibition provides a key to understanding the artist's work and comes at the right time to present important but unseen works created in Bulgaria in different periods between 1998 and 2024.
Between March and May 2025, a limited edition of numbered and signed prints of The Poet - Liberation (José Martí on vacation from NYC), 2005/2025 by Luchezar Boyadjiev will be available. Proceeds from the sale of these prints will support Boyadjiev’s upcoming solo exhibition at the National Gallery in Sofia.
You can also experience the works of Stefan Nikolaev, Rudi Ninov, Artan Hajrullahu and Dimitar Genchev at exhibitions across Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt and Sofia.
We are pleased to recommend the feature film debut of visual artist, screenwriter, and director Kamen Stoyanov, which will be featured at the 29th Sofia International Film Festival.
Additionally, we are launching a new Artist-in-Focus section in this edition of our newsletter. This month, we are excited to highlight the remarkable work of Dimitar Genchev.
Finally, we will share a curated selection of media perspectives on the talented artists represented by our gallery.
We can't wait to meet you in the coming days!
Warm regards,
The Sarieva/Gallery Team

After graduating in London, the artist Zvezda has to return
to Bulgaria to help her mother. She manages to arrange her first solo exhibition in a renowned Sofia gallery, but the dreamed opening triumph is canceled due to the Covid lockdown. Zvezda decides to isolate herself in the gallery among her paintings as a living sculpture to be observed from the windows and online in a radical exhibitionism, risking her mother’s health. The celebrity achieved at a time of deficient cultural events, however, comes at the expense of her humanity and values.
