GALLERY NEWS
Representation of Krassimir Terziev
Following a long-standing collaboration that began more than a decade ago, including two jointly realized exhibitions and a series of educational panels, Sarieva/Gallery inow proudly represents the artist Krassimir Terziev.
Krassimir Terziev is a leading Bulgarian contemporary interdisciplinary artist with an international career, working across video, photography, and text, and addressing contemporary cultural and social themes. His practice questions the boundaries between reality and fiction, while exploring the multiple transitions and tensions between a globalized world—dominated by an overwhelming multiplicity of symbolic imagery and its material grounding in technological, physical, and human “hardware.”
Most recently, Sarieva/Gallery presented Base and Superstructure, his second solo exhibition with the gallery following “Fixated Images” (2018) at Sariev, Plovdiv.

Manifesta 16, Ruhr region, Germany
St, Gertrud Church, Essen
Curatorial Team: René Block and Leonie Herweg
20 June - 04 October 2026
Sarieva/Gallery is pleased to announce the participation of Bulgarian artist Pravdoliub Ivanov in Manifesta 16 Ruhr, one of Europe’s leading nomadic contemporary art biennials. The 2026 edition will take place across the Ruhr region in Germany from 21 June to 4 October 2026, activating twelve decommissioned post-war church buildings across the cities of Essen, Bochum, Duisburg, and Gelsenkirchen as sites for artistic and civic reimagination.
Manifesta 16 Ruhr brings together over 100 international artists and collectives, including 64 newly commissioned projects developed specifically for the architectural and social contexts of the Ruhr region. The biennial continues its long-standing focus on site-responsive artistic practice and the transformation of urban infrastructures into spaces for dialogue, community, and cultural experimentation.
